1988:
TranSpec Fasteners, Inc. was founded in 1988 with a mission to provide an assured quality product, at competitive pricing to a demanding base of quality critical original equipment manufacturers. Founder, Jim Disharoon, a long time fastener industry professional with a broad technical background, started with 3 employees in a 1500 square foot building, targeting the aircraft/aerospace, ordnance, naval sub safe, and high technology industrial controls markets.
1994:
TranSpec was one of the first distributors to seek and obtain registration to ISO 9002 in 1994. Along with the ISO 9002 certification, TranSpec was listed as a Qualified Supplier to the United States Government (QSLD) and obtained several customer approvals. Many of these approvals included a dock to stock program, alleviating or reducing the need for the customer to inspect product before use. Throughout the decade, TranSpec experienced continual growth in business that necessitated a move to a larger building in order to accommodate both staff and inventory.
1998:
In 1998 TranSpec moved to a 21,000 square foot location in northeast Fort Worth (our current location to date), conveniently located near major highways and D/FW International Airport. TranSpec was proactive in the industry by anticipating customer needs and developing programs that were of mutual benefit. TranSpec embraced Six Sigma methodologies and continued to strive for process and business improvements.
Today:
TranSpec provides services and products to 20 major customers in 10 countries on four continents. By supporting the individual needs of each of our major customers, TranSpec has been able to design and implement individualized programs that save costs, reduce inventories, and positively impact the supply chain.
